Question is for Visual Basic 6.0. VB6 Crashes When Trying to View a Form in Design View. I have been working on a VB 6.0 project for many months with no problems with any forms. Suddenly I can no longer open 1 particular form in Design
View. When I attempt to do this VB crashes and shows "Visual Basic has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" AppName: vb6.exe AppVer: 6.0.97.82 ModName: vb6.exe ModVer: 6.0.97.82 Offset: 0000e87d
I am using Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3 on an HP E8400 @ 3.00Hz. This is a new computer to me and the problem may coincide with my use of this computer on the VB project. The project originated in some version of VB prior
to V 6.0. Since the problem started I have updated the comctl32.ocx to MSComctl.ocx as per Q190952 but this did not help. The problem form is large and will be very time consuming to replicate. It is not clear that any replicated form will
fare any better.
I have searched MSDN. The existing similar problems relate to VB5, VB2010, or VB.net none of which appear to apply to VB 6.0
