Remote access for vendor?

I'm looking for suggestions as to the best way to allow a software vendor
remote access to our network to work on a software install on a specific
server. I guess I have to create them an account on my domain, and allow
them remote access to VPN, and then RDP to the server they need access to.
Is this the best method? And is there a way to lock them down tighter?

Any suggestions would be welcome,

thanks,

chris

Re: Remote access for vendor?

That will work fine. Make them a domain user then add them to the local
admin group (most software install require this)on the machine they will be
servicing. If they are reputable there is no need to lock them down tighter.
You are giving them admin rights to a server, if you don't trust them, you
shouldn't allow them access at all.
