We have a service that has been failing on a periodic basis, specifically when it loses contact with our Oracle db:
Event Type:<span style="white-space
re Error<br/>
Event Source:<span style="white-space
re xxx<br/>
Event Category:<span style="white-space
re None<br/>
Event ID:<span style="white-space
re 0<br/>
Date:<span style="white-space
re 11/6/2012<br/>
Time:<span style="white-space
re 8:58:38 AM<br/>
User:<span style="white-space
re N/A<br/>
Computer:<span style="white-space
re PPD-XP-DEV<br/>
Description:<br/>
Stopping Service due to error ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE<br/>
<br/>
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.<br/>
I have the service settings to restart the service on first, second and subsequent failures in the recovery tab, however it did not restart the service.
Could this be because the startup was set to manual?<br/>
Thanks
Doug
