I am convinced I have a corrupt master system catalog database in my
Win2k Pro installation. For the life of me I cannot get a hold of the
fix - the catfix tool.

Can anyone provide it?

I don't think that catfix is part of a standard Win2000 installation.
It probably belongs to some application, hence this would be
the place where you should look.

Re: URGENT: need catfix

It is part of Application Center 2000. However, it is also provided as
KB301404. MS wants $99 to open a support case so that's my last
resort.

I'll repost to see if anyone's using that app.

There's no such article but hotfixes are always free.

Re: URGENT: need catfix

Hello Dave,

If i understand the support from MS correct on page: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifesupsps#Windows

searching on page for Application center 2000, the support ended latest 18.6.2005,
following the link on the note it comes to: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifecycle

Under the phases of support, Other non-security hotfixes, "Available only
with purchase of Extended Hotfix Support Agreement"

If you don't have it, you have to pay now. Also heard it hear in another
posting that somebody has to pay for a Windows 2000 Non-security hotfix,
because the support has ended.

Best regards

Re: URGENT: need catfix

Yes, I agree. If the article was pulled then the hotfix offer is also
revoked.
