I used dwm to draw a custom caption bar( which have buttons on the caption but remains the aero effects) following the tutorial

But this sample could not run on dwm-disabled system. I noticed that IE and firefox do also use DWM to get the aero effect(while chrome does not), but their could also run on dwm disabled system.
How does ie and firefox manage to run on both system smoothly.
