Hi People,

I have 3 server, 1 SBS 2000, 1 TS Server (W2K) and 1 APP Server (W2K).

After playing with the TS Server for over 90 days.....its now locked.

Now when I go to install the TS Licensing Server on the SBS 2000 Server I
get the screen with 'Terminal Server is currently configured to use - Remote
Administration'.

Now do I leave this as it is or choose Applications Server Mode?. The main
reason I ask is that I use the remote TS admin a lot and dont want to lose it.

Many thanks for your help.

Re: Terminal Server 2000 Question

Well, you have to decide:

Remote Administration mode is limited to two concurrent connections
and designated for administrators wanting to manage their servers.

Application Server mode has no connection limit - you need, however,
an activated TS licensing server with valid licenses.

I hope this helps.

Helge

Re: Terminal Server 2000 Question

Did you choose to install Terminal Services and Terminal Service
licensing? it sounds like you've chosen both.....

Re: Terminal Server 2000 Question

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

My SBS 2000 has terminal services installed but it remote admin mode. I
believe this was installed by default.

My member server 2000 has terminal services installed in app mode.

I need to install terminal server licensing on the SBS 2000 right?.

My question is when I install the TS licensing on the SBS 2000 it tells me
that it has already been setup in admin mode and gives me a choice to
reconfigure in app mode. Do I install the licensing in app mode instead.?

What I dont understand or havent been told yet is if I do this will it turn
my sbs2000 into a terminal server which of course I dont want.

All i want to do is activate the terminal server member server as its no run
out of evaluation time (90 days).

Hope you can help

Re: Terminal Server 2000 Question

No, keep the remote admin mode. TS licensing is unaffected by this.
