printing in TS...yes, that!

Good afternoon!

I have a hopefully simple question regarding printing within a TS
environment.

First off - environment is single Windows Server 2003 R2 (SP2 32-bit) AD
Domain and the TS box is a member server of that domain. I have implemented
the ntprintsubs.inf (the two entries in the registry are correct) and am
seeing an error entry on the TS box in the Event Logs.

Question: upon reviewing the ntprintsubs.inf file I have noticed that one
printer (on the left side of the file) will have multiple entries (on the
right side) as a possible mapping. Is this possible?

Here is an example of what I mean:

"HP LaserJet 6L" = "HP LaserJet 4"
"HP LaserJet 6L" = "HP LaserJet 4L"
"HP LaserJet 6L" = "HP LaserJet 5L"
"HP LaserJet 6L" = "HP LaserJet 6L PCL"
"HP LaserJet 6L" = "HP LaserJet 6L"
"HP LaserJet 6L" = "HP LaserJet"

Shouldn't there be just one mapping possible? I have noticed this for
several different printers.....

[SIDENOTE: I have also implemented the Fallback Printer Driver - do I even
need to worry about the ntprintsubs.inf file?]

Thanks,

Hallo Cary!
I excuse for not replaying to you questions (I don't have the experience
to). But I thing I've tried this once (a few years ago):
Leave my home PC (2003 ent. stand alone server) turned on. Go to the
printing center, sit on an XP workstartion, remote desktop attaching the
printers and print. I believe it should be that easy.

Re: printing in TS...yes, that!

Hi Cary!

Yes, that's incorrect.
The entries should be the other way around:

"HP LaserJet 4" = "HP LaserJet 6L"
"HP LaserJet 4L" = "HP LaserJet 6L"
etc.

and:
"HP LaserJet 6L" = "HP LaserJet 6L"
is not necessary at all.
