*This question may have been answered before but please help*

Hello,

I have a new Dell XPS 410 that is running windows Vista. I currently
use Mozilla Firefox to use the internet.

However, any time I try to download ANYTHING that has a .exe file, it
doesn't appear. Now I know I am downloading the file, as the status bar
shows that the file is being downloaded, and whenever I am downloading a
file folder that contains multiple files, all the other NON-.exe files
show up, just not the .exe files. I am currently going to college, and
with my older Windows XP computer, this was never a problem as I could
download any .exe file just fine. I've even tried using different means
of downloading files such as DC++ and other file sharing servers and
every time I download the file, it just doesn't appear at all.

If anyone knows what is going on, is there something with the firewall,
or is something I can change and say, Allow .exe files, or is Vista just
that retarded and I'm going to have to download everything with my other
computer?

Please help,
-Thomas-

***EDIT*** Ok, so it's an hour after I made this post and I was reading
around on the interwebs, and I saw the idea of downloading any .exe file
to the desktop, or a folder ON the desktop, for some reason this works
for me. I have no idea why...but it does. But seriously, if someone has
any idea why I can't download .exe files anywhere else I would still
like to know.
