[background=transparent]Hi folks,[/background]
[background=transparent]I had a thought which I was pursuing and that led to another thought which eventually led to yet another.[/background]

[background=transparent]My Original Thought[/background]

[background=transparent]The original thought was a way to organize various methods and functions which I’ve created (or just collected) over the years. Invariably I’m writing a program and I know I’ve used a particular one which would come in handy in the current program – but I can’t remember where I used it. I’ll spend a while hunting and often just give up and do it again.[/background]
[background=transparent]So I started writing a program which I was going to share with all of you (if you’d find use from it) and “I’ve only just begun”, in the words of the late Karen Carpenter. That’s when I had another thought, but first, the following might give you an idea of how I was setting it up:[/background]

[background=transparent]The checkbox (actually a ‘CheckEditControl’ from DevExpress) that you see at the top-left…[/background]

[background=transparent]…is a result of my second thought, explained next:[/background]
[background=transparent]My Revised Thought[/background]

[background=transparent]The second thought was that if there are several of us using this program, how about if we ‘share’ them? That would then allow the others to view and, obviously, use methods and functions created by each other, thus significantly increasing the knowledgebase of all of us (which use the program).[/background]
[background=transparent]As they say, the devil’s in the details, and I have a lot to work out for just how that can be done, but this idea is new so rather than dwelling on the problems, I would rather right now focus on the concept.[/background]
[background=transparent]The fact that the code will be saved both as plain text and HTML and those will be stored on my website, that also means that the code page can be used by you the same as you’ve seen me use for the last many years now.[/background]
[background=transparent]For instance, something[/background][background=transparent][background=transparent]like this[/background][/background][background=transparent].[/background]
[background=transparent]My Latest Thought[/background]

[background=transparent]The most recent thought is … why limit it to just methods and functions? You’ve seen me post more complete solutions[/background][background=transparent][background=transparent]like this one[/background][/background][background=transparent] – so why not allow that too? I’m not sure what to call that category though. Maybe ‘Solutions’? Most aren’t complete solutions as much as they’re just a larger swath of code so if you’re interested and have thoughts on that, I’d be appreciative.[/background]
[background=transparent]*****[/background]
[background=transparent]If anyone here is interested then I’d enjoy hearing your thoughts about it, including any ideas on how else to embellish it. I can’t promise any sort of delivery date though – and I do hope you all understand. It might be in the next few weeks or even many months away – I just have to work on it when I can.[/background]
[background=transparent]Let me know your thoughts and thanks for listening! :)[/background]
Please call me Frank :)
