Hello,
I have performed an audit for a potential customer. This is a small shop
with 6 people and for some (unknown) reason, their current IT firm installed
a Windows 2003 Server (SP2) as TS. This server is the only server in the
house and acts as DC, file & print, etc... The company uses 2 laptops and 4
Wyse Winterminals.
I checked the TS licencing configuration and here is what I found:
1. TS Lincencing service is installed on the server
2. TS Licence server is unactivated
3. TS is in user mode
The current IT company that advised the customer might have wanted to save
some TS licencing dollars. I have no idea when the server was installed and
I would like to know if some grace delay might expire and prevent user
connections. I played with TS licencing in a previous life, and IIRC, in
this scenario, nothing should break. But I am only 99% sure...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Xavier
