How to convert Plain text written in richtextbox into rich text format using rtf property?

I have a richtextbox and what i want is to somehow convert the text written in richtextbox into richtextformat and i know there is property that lies within the roots of richtextbox control but i dont know how to use it to convert the plain text into rtf, so can somebody show me how can i convert the richtextbox.text into rtf(rich text format)?
