2003 Terminal Server with XP clients. Users will say they can't print. I'll
look at Printers and Faxes, and many times the screen is blank. Other times
the printers are displayed. I stop/start the print spooler and the printers
are back. But unless the users log off and back on, they are not able to
print.
We have Brother, Epson, HP Laser Printer, HP DeskJet, and Lexmark printers
at client stations.
Periodically the spooler stops by itself, but I have recovery set to restart
on the first failure. The System log rarely shows the spooler shutting down.
I usually have to manually stop/start it myself. Lately when I stop the
spooler I get a spoolsv.exe application error - "The instruction at
"0x7c80eddf" referenced memory at "0.. address varies". The memory could not
be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.
Also some times Adobe acts like is going to create pdf, but does not.
Stop/Starting the spooler resolves this too.
May go a few days without a problem, or a few hours.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
