I had installed Visual Studio Professional 2017 on my laptop previously. At one point I had run into an issue and used the information in a previous question of mine to fix it. upon doing an upgrade of visual studio, the issue came back. so I used the same steps to try to fix it and it did not work. Since then I did an uninstall and I am now attempting a re-install using a new download of the installer from the MSDN website.
when I run the installer, it attempts to load the products screen and then displays a popup stating the information below.
"A product matching the following parameters cannot be found:
channelId: VisualStudio.15.Release
productId: Microsoft.VisualStudio.Product.Professional"
I checked in the windows Uninstall/Change program window and was able to find that it thinks I have 4 instances of Visual Studio Professional 2017 installed on my laptop. I was also able to map these 4 instances to registries on the machine. three at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" and one at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall"
Is there some sort of cleanup I can do to fix this issue and potentially get Visual Studio re-installed onto my machine?
Thanks,
