I accidentally uninstalled some of the Microsoft c++ files when I was trying to uninstall Microsoft Visual IDE (very dumb mistake). Now I cannot launch my applications, it display an side by side config error as below:
"
C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS\sldworks.exe
The applicaiton has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. PLease see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."
In the Event viewer appears:
"Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS\sldworks.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.ATL,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.30729.6161" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis."
Pls, someone could help me to fix it ?
I tried to install back all Microsoft Visual c++ .
I tried both of these solutions and they did not work, also tried similar solutions in the web and they all failed.
you can find one search at autodesk support:
Error: "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect"
