I know every company/person must have some way of dealing with this issue, I was just curious how others are handling this issue. So I just started Visual Studio 2017 Community, I have the latest update, and it queues me up to receive the latest update (again...). My problem is, I don't know how large the update is, until I click the install button and it started the download. I mean, is there seriously no way to know this before hand? I mean, I just sat down to do some programming, and now I have to wait for a 7.15 GB download, just from version 15.7.0 to 15.7.1. Seriously?
There's no way to reverse my decision, Visual Studio won't start, it gives an error because I've paused the download.
And I can't rollback to previous install, I MUST proceed with the upgrade... does this seem not the way it should be done, to anyone else?
This takes up my internet bandwidth AND my Visual Studio time.... and I got no warning about the size of the download, no option to back out because it's 7.15 GB.....
Super sigh, any suggestions? Besides just don't push the update button before doing any work, wait until after I guess...???
At any rate, I just pushed the update button a few minutes ago, and it's too late now.... rofl
