Two issues:

I want to copy my BitLocker key to an additional USB HD, thus, I would have
two BitLocker keys. If I copy BitLocker to another USB HD using Windows
Exporer, will that "delete" the security configuration of the key I will be
copying?

How do I know if BitLocker is indeed encrypting my C:/ drive?

With anticipated gratitude for your cooperation,

RE: Copy BitLocker to another USB HD

No, if you copy it you do not delete the original. Keep in mind, however,
that the BitLocker keys are hidden files so you need to show hidden files to
copy it.

If BitLocker is saying that the drive is encrypted it is. There is no
verification feature that does not involve your taking the drive out and
putting it into a different computer and try to access it, which I would not
recommend.
