Hello
I am keen to develop a commercial desktop application (software) with Visual Studio, but something puts me off. The GUI options are Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Windows Forms. Having charts in the software is necessary. I really don't want to resort to third-party applications either their future is not clear or they are very expensive for startups. Based on my research WPF are new and can handle a GUI better than Windows Forms. However, the chart library belongs to Windows Forms not WPF. I am aware of hosting Windows Forms Controls in WPF. So my questions are:
1- Is chart control of Windows forms well compatible with WPF (I am Ok with difficulties but not bugs).
2- If no to question 1: Then is this true: Microsoft wants developers for a chart which is the inevitable part of many applications resort to third parties? or go back to old school Windows Forms?
3- Have Microsoft any plan to have WPF charts?
Kind Regards
Sorush
