I have VS 2017 Enterprise on a desktop and laptop. Both are running Windows 7.
On the laptop, the update closes VS2017, does the update, and restarts Visual Studio. All good.
On the desktop, the update runs, does not shut down Visual Studio, and wants to reboot when it's done.
On reboot, after logging in, setup starts. It displays "Getting things ready..." and then hangs, hanging the computer. Ctr-Alt-Del does nothing, and I have to hard reboot the computer.
Rebooting again, everything's fine, except that VS2017 won't run, because it's not configured. Running the configuration tool, the computer hangs.
Occasionally, I'll get the error that it couldn't find Visual Studio @ C:\program file (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\Enterprise.
Occasionally, I'll get an error that it's not connected to the internet.
If I get an error, I can retry, and everything works flawlessly. If I don't after 5+ minutes, my only option is a hard reboot, and try again.
This behavior started with 15.8. Before that everything worked fine.
