Hi,
I work on a pretty large team and we use tfs for much of our source control needs and visual studio for development (as you might expect). One of the biggest things that project members always complain about is that when they go into a project and view a file, even if they don't want to edit it/make changes it gets checked out and locked anyways which causes issues for others trying to actually edit the file. I know that it its possible to change this setting on a per ide level, but that means I have to distribute another set of instructions to quite a few people on how to disable this feature. what I would like to know is that if its possible to make it so that automatic checkout is disabled by default when the user either installs visual studio, or connects to a team project in tfs.
Thanks in advance
