If you are over 60 you do not have to pay for tuition at FSU: Doing a Degree in Computer Science.

I always thought you had to be over 65 to attend at FSU, but they
have lowered the age to 60, so I am going to take advantage of it. Age
should not be an issue in going back to school. You should be able to
do it at any age. So I am going back to school and going to SFU as a
regular student and it is my intention to do a Degree in Computer
Science and pick up some Certification's on the way to. I am going to
write the Cisco CCNA and do a SME Search Engine Optimization
Certification on the way and Vista Cert when they come out. They are
not expensive to write. If you are over 60 you do not pay for tuition
at FSU, it is subsidized. All you ave to pay are for books and
student fee's.

In my case I have 4 what they call "O"' levels from the UK when I
went to school in the 60's.

I have Military school and trade training that I can get copies of
and they can by used to challenge the courses at SFU.

I had South African,Australian and UK Aircraft Engineer licenses
on Helicopter's and Fixed Wing and these can also be used to challenge
certain courses.

While in Canada I attended City University(a Seattle accredited
University with a campus here in Vancouver) for three years at night
school and did 75% toward a Degree in Business Administration that I
did not finish for lack of funds at the time. I still owe then some
$1000 from ten years ago so I will have to battle to get a copy of my
transcript. I had a GPA of about 3.2 over the duration of the
course's in the early 90's.

One of my weak point is my bad English, Grammar and Spelling.I do
not need to be told this. Recently I have started using a free
software called OpenOffice Writer that has helped a lot, as I get use
to it , use it more and more I feel it will be be such a big issue.

Anything I know about computers I have learned on the fly off the
Net over
these last seven years. I am interested in computers and if I was
younger I would have liked to go into this field.

A degree in Computer Science can take four years. I feel with
changing some of the course at FSU which you can do I can do it in
about 2.5 years. That will put me at about 64. I would still not been
to late to get work in the Industry as workers are working longer now
over 65.

My interest has been re mailers. I have already talk to SFU and
they are interested in running a re mailer and gateway if the
student's can work on it. They say they will fund it. I will start at
the Spring or possibly Summer 2008 Semester depending when I can get
in.I have quit using handles on the Net and just use my own name I
feel it is better that way even if you get flamed.

So that is my goal, wish me luck. the girl friend will not like it
when she finds out.

Good luck. Are you going to live on campus? My son graduated from FSU and
they have some nice chicks there, so your girl friend may get jealous :-)

FSU=Florida State University if my guess is correct?
