Recording an audio signal in VB.NET 2010

I need help. I have been all over this site looking at and trying example code, but none of it seems to work properly on my computer. I just want a simple program in VB.NET 2010 that can record a .wav file from my computer / line-in microphone. I am somewhat familiar with VB, but I still consider myself a novice and I don't really know all of the audio jargin. I'm doing this for a research project and would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.
