Hello,

I am having the following problem. After enter my credentials I am getting this message.

An error occurred and we can no longer retrieve information for the account. Re-enter your credentials.(In Visual Studio 2017 - Register Product)

I have struggling with this problem for two days.

In the logs I am getting the following errors:

System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException: trust must be established with the computer for delegation and the current user account must be configured to allow delegation.

'Microsoft.IdentityService.Clients.ActiveDirectory.AdalSilentTokenAcquisitionException: Failed to acquire token silently as no token was found in the cache. Call method AcquireToken

I am in a Windows 2008 R2 Domain Environment. My account is member of Domain Admin Group. Trus Delegation is enable for Domain Administrators.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Luis

I was not able to add a reply to the comment below. So I am adding this here. I was getting an unexpected error message in this forum.

Thanks for the information, nevertheless I have tried this workaround before and had no success. This is what I have done to fix the problem.

Since there are other problems related to this one with VS 2017. Everything seems to be related with the domain account and joining the PC to a Windows Server 2008 R2.

Related problems:

When trying to add an IMAP account in Outlook 2016 I got Error Code 0x8004011c
When trying to install Dropbox I got an error exit code 2

Solution.

Clean the temp folder, System Files and IE Junk Files
Error Code 0x8004011c - when trying to set up email account in Outlook 2013

After that I follow these steps to add a ProtectionPolicy in the registry as stated in this post
'The computer must be trusted for delegation and the current user account must...' error when trying to connect to sql server 2008

After doing these steps, I was able to register VS 2017, install Dropbox and configure Outlook 2016.

Best Regards,

Luis
