Error Message upon opening Forms in Design View "Projecitem unavailable"

The following message is displayed when I double click on the name of the desired form in the Solution Explorer list. to open it in Design View:

"To prevent possible data loss before loading the designer, the following errors must be resolved:"


"Projectitem unavailable."
