Hi there everyone,
I have a problem with my VISTA 64bit , i purchased three western digital 500
GB hard drives (WD5000ABYS) to do a RAID 5 with them ... and i'm using the
onboard RAID controller , i set the RAID 5 up and it's saying that it's
"HEALTHY" but when i go into My computer under the windows vista , i can't
see the new drive !!! but when i go into Device Manager i can see the 937GB
drive that been made with the Raid but when i go into My Computer i can't see
it , so i don't know what's the problem and how can i solve it !!! i've tried
to update the Motherboard chipset software from Nvidia but still didn't make
any diffrence ... so is there anyone can suggest what can i do to make
windows show me the new drive in My Copmuter so i can actually use it !
my system is :
ASUS Crosshair Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+
Leadtek 8800GTX video card
4GB DDR2 pc 6400
320 GB Seagate "primary"
3 x 500 GB WD "in RAID 5"
Creaive X-Fi Fatal1ty sound card
so please please if anybody have any idea for me what to do that'll be most
apreciated ,
Thank's everybody so much ...

Maz,
My best guess is that there is still no driver letter assigned to it and
that it is not formatted.
Right click on "Computer", click Manage (translation may be inaccurate. I
have Vista in Spanish).
Choose Disk Management.
Your RAID array should appear in the center pane.
Right-click on it and choose whatever menu shows up for assigning/changing a
drive latter.
Format it (preferrably quick format) later.
That should do it.

RE: Problems with windows VISTA 64BIT

Maz,
Once the drive is formatted, a new installation of Vista would "see" it and
assign a letter automatically.
