Hello Folks:

I've been developing C++ applications with Visual Studio, and its predecessors, for almost two decades.

I want to learn web development, HTML, CSS and Javascript so I added the Web Essentials 2017 extension to Visual Studio 2017 Community.

When I start a new project with Visual Studio 2017 Community with Web Essentials 2017 I'm not seeing a language option for HTML or CSS.

How do I use Visual Studios 2017 Community for web development?

I know there's a Microsoft product named Visual Studio Code that a lot of web developers like.

What is the difference between Visual Studio 2017 Community with Web Essentials 2017 and Visual Studio Code for web development?
