I spent a fair amount of time creating VS2017 project templates for new projects to work with our existing product suite. Now that we have moved to VS2019, these templates have been lost because I have been unable to find any way to import the VS2017 project templates to VS2019. Since I remember quite a bit of struggling to get the original set created, I am not looking forward to repeating that experience and I am really, really hoping that I have just overlooked the tool that will import the VS2017 project templates for use in VS2019 … after all, if VS2019 can import the projects, it should be able to import the templates, too, right?
Assuming this is possible (or that it is possible to create my own project templates at all in VS2019), I hope there is a way to ensure that my custom templates are the first ones listed in the new project screen (which, IMHO, is more difficult to use than the VS2017 version.)
