I am trying to install Visual Studio 2013 Isolated Shell to run ModBuddy for Civilization 6... I have tried several times to no avail. I downloaded the package from Microsoft's website and every time I try to install it, the Visual Studio splash pops up, my CPU revs up, my CPU revs down, and the Visual Studio splash disappears (the process also disappears from Task Manager).
I get no error messages, no warnings, nothing to tell me why it's failing to install.
I have tried running it in compatibility mode (Windows 7 and 8 have the same issue, Windows XP SP3 does give me an error: it requires a newer version of Windows). I've also tried running it as admin. Nothing changes. The process starts, I see a splash, CPU revs up, the process ends.
I thought it might be that I had Visual Studio 2017 installed, but uninstalling that changed nothing.
I am running Windows 10 Home.
