Icons in visual C

I just wrote my first program in Visual C. A question about icons. In the resource file are 2 icons. One for wcex.hIcon, the second for wcex.hIconSm. Everything is OK. But why does the compiled exe file have an icon that is not stored anywhere? . Running, the program shows the correct icons.
