I downloaded the installer for Visual Studio Community Edition. When I ran it I got an error that the installation couldn't be completed. I was able to run the uninstaller to remove whatever had been installed and tried again to install the program. I now get an error message of:
Cannot find module 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer\resources\app\main\StubMain.js'
I saw that someone else had this same error back in 2017. The advice was to check for the existence of StubMain.js at the indicated location. If it was not there, the advice was to download the installer and run it again.
In my case, StubMain.js was not present but when I downloaded the installer, it merely replaced the previous installer with an identical copy which generates the same error when run. Is there any way to recover StubMain.js? How can I proceed to install Visual Studio?
Thanks,
