Re: Spywareblaster Update

Thanks Alias:
After subscribing to automatic updating, my protection for FF was enabled,
while I couldn't enable it before, it got so far and then it hung. Did
anyone else experience this situation? It was part of the reason for me to
auto-update.

Harry.

Mine hangs too but if I wait, it completes. Note that the program itself
says "be patient".

You have no idea how 'patient' I was, at one time over an hour.
Don't think you had to wait that long?

Don't you have Windows Me and an old computer? I have XP and fast
computers. Perhaps that's the difference.

Aren't you thinking Spybot S&D immunization?

I never had problems with Spyware Blaster.

Re: Spywareblaster Update

Ditto, Zee. That is one program that NEVER has updating problems.

How's the weather in Porto?? Still awed by the old Sao Francisco church
there. Just amazing!!

Now that my never-ending travails with the dental profession seem to be
over (touch wood), I will start replying to emails. My friend loved
those pictures of Tibo. Did you take them??

Cheers, Heather

Re: Spywareblaster Update

Hi Heather.

The temperature is cooling at last, but still vey dry weather.

We had Summer temperatures in October (talk about global warming...), and
forest fires in November!

Really, really weird.

Hapy to read you have good memories of Porto.

The Tibo pictures were found somewhere on a local website, while looking
around and searching for some further info about your friend's origins.

Do feel free to get in touch whenever you want to.

Cheers,

Zee

This is not a problem with the 'Blaster' itself, Zee, it was the protection
for FF within, which was taking so long until it hung, meaning no progress
(the bar was at the end).
My signing up for auto-update solved the problem. I did have in mind at one
time to post in this group and/or email the company, but I finally chose the
latter.
Don't know how long Alias has to wait with XP, but $10 (9.95) a year could
solve his problem also.

With XP I have to wait about 12-13 seconds for FF data to load. The
others load right away with no hesitation.

Are you running Spybot S&D and its immunization feature?

Try disabling all immunization for Firefox (IMO redundant), except cookies.

Confirm that Spyware Blaster returns to its usual "speed".

There is a known "issue" between these 2 programs.

I tried that with no joy.
The problem seems to lie in the configuration of 'Mozilla FireFox', the
check-off box is sort of 'grayed out'. My solution is to leave it 'disabled'
in SpywareBlaster, since I don't use it anyay, even though it is installed
and ready to go anytime.

No problem with the "speed''.
