I got workstation which is Windows 10 Enterprise Version 1803. It is installed Visual Studio Professional 2015 version 14 Update 3 on the box. Recently vulnerability scan gives me the following critical finding that said unsupported version of SQL server version is running.
My concern is I have never installed SQL server to the workstation. This is client machine for development, and it is installed SQL Server Management Studio 17 to connect to DB server, but not install SQL Server application itself. The finding said SQL Server Express LocalDB, and I guess this originally came from installing Visual Studio to this workstation, but I am not sure yet..
Here is my question.
(1) Is my understanding correct that when you install Visual Studio, it also installing SQL Server Express LocalDB automatically as well?
(2) How can I upgrade version of SQL Server Express LocalDB to the latest version? Where I can get a patch or installer?
Any advise will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you..
