I installed VS Community 2017 on a server in a corporate environment. It is for at most two developers to create and deploy SQL Server Integration Services packages for internal use. As far as I know, this scenario does not require Professional version, which I would have to ask the developers to purchase in order to get a license key. I didn't realize that Visual Studio Community 2017 is a 30 day trial unless you activate it or unlock it. Now it will expire soon. On Help|About screen, it let's you sign in with a Microsoft account to activate the product. If I use my personal Microsoft account (Hotmail), will this VS installation now be tied to my personal account somewhere in the registry? Once I activate VS, is it good for the life of the installation, or will it need to re-activated in the future (like annually?) Thanks.
