Visual Studio Community License Issue

I've been using Visual Studio Community for years and upgraded to 2019 a month ago. Recently, it just locked me out and says I need a license for it. Isn't it supposed to be free? I've reinstalled it and restarted my computer but nothing will get past it. There's a button that says "check for updated license" but it won't do anything.
