Can I use Visual Studio 2017 product key which was used in a desktop machine in my personal laptop?

I have a Visual Studio 2017 product key and I am using it for development in desktop machine. But now I am switching my work to personal laptop. Is it possible to use the same product key in my personal laptop provided i will deactivate my visual studio in desktop? or Do I need to purchase a new key?
