Self-registration for C:\Program Files\VideoLan\VLC\axvlc.dll failed Trying to embed vlc into vb.net

I'm trying to embed vlc onto vb.net but when i try to import axvlc.dll. I get the error: Self-registration for C:\Program Files\VideoLan\VLC\axvlc.dll



What should I do?

FYI:

I'm runing 64bit windows 7
I have latest 64bit version of vlc installed
Also I have already attempted to register this dll, thinking this would fix things. It said dll registered but it still wouldnt work in vb.net
