Dear Microsoft Support Team
We are running a Windows Server 2012 R2 machine and trying to install Visual Studio Professional 2017 on it. We have downloaded the most recent version of the web installer (vs_professional__726117234.1515681830.exe) and selected .NET desktop development as the only component we want to install.
Shortly after the installation begins, an error gets displayed on the screen and the installation stops (see image and logs).

Mentions
- The user logged on the machine has full administrative privileges and the installer is run as an administrator (right click -> Run as admin)
- The antivirus has been disabled before the installation
- Windows Update 2919355 (as per VS 2017 requirements) is installed
- .NET Framework 4.5 and 4.6.1 are installed
- We have tried running some older versions of the installer, with the same results
