Hello,
I'm struggling for days to find a way to re-enable the markup tag navigator in Visual Studio 2019, that was readily made available in previous Visual Studio editions. This is really really useful for markup code where deeply nested html / ASP.NET control tags are difficult to quickly locate/manipulate manually.
Below is a screenshot from VS 2017 for an aspx file:
And a screenshot from VS 2019 for an aspx file:
I cannot seem to find a way to make it appear again and recently I've understood (from here: link to developer community discussion on tag navigator) that this feature was removed from Visual Studio 2019. But I really need it to do my work. This is a highly valuable productivity feature for us web developers who work with big front-end, functionality rich and complex markup files (.aspx ; .html ; .cshtml ; .vbhtml)
Does anybody know of an extension available for Visual Studio 2019 to bring back the feature? Any relevant, competitive alternative?
I cannot revert to VS 2017 because I've upgraded my projects to latest C#. But then again why do this, shouldn't a newer IDE major release be better than a previous one and help us - developers - be more productive?
