Upgrading Visual Studio from a script

Hi,

I use

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer\vs_installer.exe" update --passive --installPath "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\BuildTools"

to upgrade my Visual Studio Build Tools installation non-interactively. However, this fails if the Installer itself needs to be updated. What would be the proper command line to upgrade the VS installer, also non-interactively?
