Hi we installed vs 2017 on my local a couple of days ago. someone else was keying so i didnt watch every choice he made but i dont think he did anything having to do with data tools. he got the install from msdn, i claimed a key , i ran the install from my download folder etc.
my goal today is to get ssrs and tabular model data tools added to that installation of vs 2017.
i did do an install of of the 2017 engine, ssrs and tabular subsequent to the vs install. That was done from two different media, one for engine etc, the other for ssrs. i dont recall choosing anything called data tools during those installs but cant be sure. I dont even think thats an option at engine install time for sql 2017.
i'm opening vs 2017 today and from tools choosing get tools and features which takes me to what i think ms called the market place. Under installation details in the market place i see sql server data tools making me think they are already installed and therefore i cant download them from the market. i dont see them in the list of available workloads. See the first image. but when i go to create a project, i dont see ssrs or tabular as choices for the kind of project i want to create. see the 2nd image.
how do i proceed?
