VB.NET\Class\Controls - I want to change the font on a control it changes all controls in the project to that font?

I have little experience create controls. I can read up on one and then make it fit what I am trying to do. So I searched for this one and didn't see any examples. I saw someone suggest this and thought I would ask how to make it happen. When I go to new item would this be a class or control and once I have that how do I write the code?
