Eventlog Source problem

I have developed a winform application. It needs to write to the Windows EventLog from time to time. My application needs to run without elevated permissions.

Is it possible for my application to create an EventLog source without elevated permissions ? If so, how as I have been unable. If not, how do most create the eventlog source for their app prior to running it ?
