how to resolve launch program path doesn't exit in c# using vscode?

I am just starting learning C# using vs code. when i try to debug i get this message:
***launch: program
path here
does not exist.***
i tried re downloading vs code, .net and still get the same message.
i tried the answers suggested here but none worked.
checked the path in environment variables and it's this:
C:\Program Files\dotnet\
can somebody please let me know what i should here?
