Migrating VS 2015 custom appwizard to VS 2019

I have a large and complex custom appwizard that I created under VS 2008 Express and later migrated to VS 2015 Community. I have purchased VS 2019 Professional and would like to use this custom appwizard with it. I can find no documentation that even mentions this, and there is no Custom Appwizard selection in New Projects. Putting . vsdir and .vsz files in the folder "My Documents\Wizards" does not work. I want to use this with VS 2019. How do I make it work?
