I am trying to reinstall Visual Studio 2012 with a fresh new ISO with new Product Key. But everytime I install and run it, I get "unable to access licensing information" error and program closes.

Did a little bit of research on this and found lot of people ran into it and they fixed it by modifying the HKCR|Licenses registry entry for the specific version of Visual studio. One link that helped many is- How to change Visual Studio 2012,2013 or 2015 License Key?

But my problem here is I am not able to identify the registry entry for the one installed on my machine. All the registry entries people have shared on this link do not even exist on mine. I even tried to use ProcessMonitor but still couldn't figure out the correct key.

Is there a way to perform a complete clean for an existing Visual Studio (in my case 2012 Ultimate)? I did try from command line using \uninstall \force, but no success.

All I need to do is - either apply the new product key to existing installation or install it again with new key. In both cases I get stuck to "unable to access licensing information" error.

Any help and guidance is appreciated!!
