I'm still using VS2010 because I'm still using SQLCE 3.5 and I've just encountered something I haven't seen before.
When debugging within VS on a workstation, access to the database (on a server) is normal. When running a compiled version of the application (in release or debug configuration) access is very slow.
It's a VB application, running on Windows 10. Any ideas on why there would be such a performance difference? The workstation is new. Could there be a network setting which may account for it?
