How to convert string to color

i have stored Red color then Color.FromName(BGColor); can convert it properly but when the color is ffff8000 then it can not convert. i tried this also System.Drawing.ColorTranslator.FromHtml(BGColor); but still no luck.

looking for a mechanism which convert any kind of color to proper color...whether it is Red or ffff8000

please suggest me a good one. thanks
