Hi,

We have a Windows 2003 terminal server which we are using for Citrix
application. We want to restrict the users so that they can not save any file
on their desktop.
Users should get a warning message if they try to save anything on their
desktop
Please suggest if anybody has done this before.

Thanks
Vikas

Re: Disable copying on Desktop on terminal server

Create a Group Policy with Folder redirection and redirect the
users to a custom desktop folder, which you make read-only (through
NTFS permissions).

You find folder redirection policy settings here:
User Configuration - Windows Settings - Folder Redirection

and since these are User Configuration settings, you'll want to use
loopback processing of the GPO. Then link the GPO to the OU which
contains the Terminal Server computer account, *not* the user
accounts.

Loopback processing setting is here:

Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - System - Group
Policy
"User Group Policy loopback processing mode" - "Replace"
