Shortcut key still working even menuitems are visible false

I am working in vb.net windows application. I have a mdicontainer form and some menuitems on it. I called a another form on clicking event of submenuitems , I have also assigned shortcut keys for this submenuitems. Problem is that here I set the submenuitems visible property false. When I run the project and press the shortcut keys , click event is working while submenuitems is not showing there.
