shadowing

I know this might be a very simple question, but can a non-administrator
have the ability to shadow another session?

I have a user trying to share a session with another user on a terminal
server and can't seem to shadow. She gets an error (I asked her to tell me
what error it is) and was wondering if it was because she is not an admin on
that system.

Re: shadowing

Yes, normal users can shadow each other, if you give them "Remote
Control" permission, in Terminal Services Configuration - rdp-tcp
connection - properties - security

Re: shadowing

on the remote control tab it is enabled, required user permission, and to
interact
however, when one user tries to shadow another user, it simply says "Session
(ID 8) remote control failed"
I wonder if it's because of the screen resolution (233365)...then again, it
says it applies to 2000

also too, the user may not have responded to the request for permission in
time...

Re: shadowing

i was looking at the wrong location; i think i found it now and they didn't
have rights to remote control
i will have the user try it again monday

Re: shadowing

i enabled that option and the user still says she can't connect to a remote
session; error appears immediately

Re: shadowing

Check your GPOs for the setting
"Sets rules for remote control of Terminal Services user sessions"

which can be found in
Computer Configuration - Administrative templates - Windows
Components - Terminal Services

and in User Configuration.

Can you shadow user sessions?
