Re: IE Icon missing on Desktop
This does not work for IE 6 on Windows xp sp2 after installing windows update
kb943460. What you will find is that if you go to the place you describe
below, IE is no longer an option under Customize desktop. This option will
only return if you uninstall kb943460 or do a registry hack (I haven't
figured it out yet). Apparently to fix a security problem, this update messes
with shell32.dll which is where all the desktop icons are stored. I haven't
been able to turn up anything about this for windows xp sp2/IE6 users in any
description of the download, security descriptions, technet forums etc. Hope
they let us know soon what we should do other than uninstalling the update.
